SECTOR CREATOR

Organic farming and solidarity are core values for the Emile Group, which is determined to stay one step ahead of the market by developing ever more fair and sustainable partnerships.

This leitmotiv has always guided the Emile Group, a pioneer in the creation of value chains.

Constantly at  looking for new, top-quality raw materials, in France and around the world, to offer quality products that respect Man and the Earth he cultivates.

In France, we have built up strong, long-term relationships with producers of sunflower, linseed, rapeseed, chia, olive and camelina.

For the construction of our overseas subsidiaries, we have joined forces with BIOPARTENAIRE® to develop sustainable partnerships in various countries : Kenya (avocado), Mali (sesame, with our Mali and Baobab Foundation), Turkey (hazelnuts), Burkina Faso (shea butter), Ghana (shea butter).

With regard to our Mali sesame-growing chain, we have gone further than just building a chain, with the creation of our Mali Foundation.

Moulin Groupe Emile

The Mali Foundation

It employs 15 full-time staff, including 12 internal controllers. Supervised by a manager, these technical advisors are trained by Ecocert in the rules of organic farming and BIOPARTENAIRE® exchanges.

Distributed throughout the different production zones, they monitor farming activities and train producers(compliance with specifications, seeds, crop management).

For every kilo of organic sesame purchased, Groupe Emile donates a premium to a cooperative development fund to support the foundation. This support encourages growers to group together and structure themselves to make collective progress in their cultivation practices, improve harvest quality and secure sales contracts. The foundation supports the organization of cooperatives and finances agricultural equipment (tools, tarpaulins, storage areas).

The Emile Noël Foundation in Mali has several objectives:

  • To ensure the lasting transparency of the development funds provided by BIOPARTENAIRE® sesame buyers and reinvested in the industry (village cooperatives, stores, buildings and work tools, technical support, etc.), as well as to improve the quality of life of producers and their families (community facilities, social services for education and health, etc.).
  • Leverage the know-how acquired over 17 years to diversify our supply chains in Mali (cashew nuts, fonio, etc.).
  • To become a skills and training center dedicated to the creation and management of organic and fair trade supply chains.
  • Lead a network of technical, logistical and financial support to respond to requests (projects, support, commitments, partnerships, etc.) from other operators and international organizations (ethical companies, NGOs, etc.).

Écolivares Garnier: La Finca Familiale

In 2015, the dream of David Garnier and his family will come true: Huilerie Emile Noël will once again have its own olive grove.

Located in Alameda, Andalusia, the “Finca” has 22,000 irrigated trees producing three varieties of olives (Hojiblanca, Manzanilla, Picual).

For the whole company, this return to our roots is a powerful reminder of the reality of working the land with respect for nature and the people who cultivate it.

The investment made with the purchase of the farm was the starting point for an exceptional year in which Huilerie Emile Noël worked hard to bring this unique heritage back to life.

This project will enable us to better control this sector and manage olive oil from fruit to oil.

Haute Provence PDO Olive Oil

We are very keen to find environmentally-friendly sources of supply.

We are committed to quality and long-term partnerships.

In the south-east of France, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region, we work with an olive grower who is as attached to the Provencal region and its terroir as we are.

Working with him has enabled us to develop our Haute Provence oil. It’s a special oil, because it’s grown at an altitude of 800m, giving it an intense, distinctive flavor.

Avocado Oil Emile Noël Guinea Spinneret

From the outset, Emile Noël has acted like a true explorer, seeking out the best seeds to create the best oils.

When it comes to avocado oil, it has to be produced as close as possible to where it was grown, to extract the highest quality oil.

And so, in 2018, the Emile Noël Guinea development project was born, a country in which the avocado culture has a long history.

This project involves the construction by Groupe Emile of an oil mill employing around ten people. The aim of the plant is to produce 60,000 liters of organic avocado oil within 4 years.

Production will officially begin in 2020. It is through sustainable, long-term approaches that Emile Noël confirms its strength and values in the organic market.
