Avocados originated in Mexico, where they were consumed 8,000 years ago by the Aztecs and Mayans.<\/p>\n

As early as the 17th century, it was imported to Europe by the Spanish. It would take another 300 years for the avocado to become a permanent fixture in French gastronomy.<\/p>\n
